Perry - AP Coach ("Perry," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our mobile application.
1. Who we are
Perry - AP Coach is developed and operated by Osama A. Chaudhry. Our app is distributed through the Apple App Store (App Store ID: 6764614405) and Google Play Store under the bundle identifier com.apbioaisj.
2. Our approach to your data
Perry is designed as a local-first application:
- No account is required. There is no sign-up, login, or registration process.
- We do not collect personal information remotely. No data is transmitted to our servers because we do not operate any servers.
- All your data stays on your device. Study progress, preferences, AI conversations, and settings are stored locally and never leave your device.
3. Information we store (on your device only)

We do not have access to any of this data. It exists only on your device.
4. On-device artificial intelligence
Perry includes an AI tutor powered by a language model (Phi-3.5-mini) that runs entirely on your device. All AI processing happens locally; your conversations are never sent to any server for AI processing. The first time you use the AI feature, the model file is downloaded from Hugging Face's content delivery network — during that download your IP address and standard HTTP headers may be visible to Hugging Face's CDN, as with any web download (see huggingface.co). Your chat history is stored only in the local database on your device.

We do not operate our own servers, APIs, or cloud services.
6. What we do not do
- No collection, transmission, or storage of personal information on remote servers
- No accounts, email addresses, or passwords required
- No analytics services (no Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, etc.)
- No advertising or ad-tracking SDKs
- No crash-reporting services (no Sentry, Crashlytics, etc.)
- No access to your camera, microphone, location, contacts, or photos
- No push notifications
- No data sharing with third parties
- No payment processing (access is granted via locally validated access codes)
- No tracking across apps or websites
7. Device permissions
Perry does not request any device permissions. The app does not access your camera, microphone, location, contacts, photo library, or any other sensitive device capabilities.
8. Children's privacy
Perry is intended for students aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Because we do not collect any personal information remotely, there is no risk of children's data being transmitted to us or any third party.
9. Data retention and deletion
All data is stored on your device until you delete the app (uninstalling Perry permanently removes all app data) or use the in-app Reset function (clears study data while preserving your access level). We retain no data remotely because we collect no data remotely.
10. Third-party services
The only third-party services Perry interacts with are Hugging Face (AI model file download — privacy policy), Expo (over-the-air app update infrastructure — privacy policy), and the Apple App Store / Google Play Store as distribution platforms. We do not integrate with any other third-party services, SDKs, or platforms.
11. Security
Since all data is stored locally on your device, the security of your data depends on the security of your device. We recommend using a device passcode or biometric lock, keeping your operating system up to date, and not sharing your device with untrusted individuals.
12. Changes to this privacy policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this policy will always reflect the most recent revision.
